Buddha This modern interpretation of Buddha sits calmly attempting to root into his peaceful state, guarded loyally by the Naga serpent whilst sitting atop the tempered sleeping tiger as loud parrots threaten to wake it, and monkeys desperately reach for the eggs on his head which are serenely protected by the white dove. A lot going on. This image represents finding peace in the chaos. Buddha represents you. The monkeys represent wild intrusive thoughts. The eggs they are reaching for are the creative inspirations within waiting to be born, protected by the dove that represents the holy spirit or highest frequency. The Naga represents the kundalini life force energy moving up the spine to get to that frequency, The tiger represents the ego and emotions that can erupt and threaten to break the connected meditative state which allows us to reach that higher frequency that hatches these divinely inspired thoughts. I have been a meditator for much of my life and my best meditations were not when i was in a sound proofed meditation room with cushions, they were on an uncomfortable park bench in crowded loud Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Don’t wait for things to be perfectly peaceful to find peace! Create peace!!!! Be peace! This card was completed 4/9/26 . MYSTERY BIRD card
How many times have you had an amazing inspired thought that fueled you with so much fire and inspiration , only to share it with the absolutely wrong pessimistic person and suddenly feel all that fire, energy, and inspiration dissipate? Often this leads to giving up and surrendering to the predictable life that doesn’t make any of the waves needed to guide you to happier shores. The mystery bird (you) guards her golden egg (ideas), on a high peak far from other’s eyes, under a cloak of stars (inspiration) at night (time of the unknown). She allows herself to become a creature of mystery, not needing to explain or justify her decisions. She has gathered all the worms needed to feed the new life which is about to hatch and the world she is creating is the only world she is giving energy to. I believe “the word” is a powerful tool for creation. It can call in the right people to bring thoughts into fruition, but the wrong person can do the opposite and destroy our creations before they happen. Be extremely careful with who you choose to talk about your ideas to. We don’t need others people’s input EVER to create a life that is authentically ours because only you can channel that life from your heart center. You have a destiny all to your self and every soul has their own world to create, so get to creating your own, and let others stew in the world of their choosing. VELADOR card
When i first moved to Tulum in 2017 the first word that i became enamored with for some reason was the word Velador. The “night watchman”. I had noticed the men standing guard at the boutique resort entries, with faces lit dimly by candles in clouds of copal , on what was then the dark beach road,and a friend called them “Veladors”. I was at an abyss in my life after my divorce, having had become a whole new person i didn’t yet understand, and facing that “i did not achieve” the ambitions of my youth. I threw myself into what would become 2 years of travel to search for myself. The worlds i chose were bright & beautiful on the outside but because of how lost i felt, it was dark on the inside like a patch of universe yet to be created. The word Velador invoked thoughts of comfort knowing that in the darkest times there was someone standing watch to light the way if needed. That uncertain chapter in my life was when i truly felt God swoop in to cocreate with me. People were placed on my path to light my way back to myself and i can’t imagine if i hadn’t leapt into the abyss nor invited those people in as my soul tribe. In our darkest most humbling times, we are finally humbled enough to stop following our boxed in routines and to trust that someone else knows the way a little better this time and it’s ok to trust. There will be times where we need the Velador and there are times where you will be called to BE the Velador. The chartreuse eye that i use in my paintings always represents consciousness. The one consciousness which unifies all things. Cocreation card
This card depicts two lovers so enraptured by their connection that they are becoming an entirely different unified being. Their serpentine kundalini life force energy has been raised dissolving the tension & residue of life from their bodies which have become like flickering flames of passionate exploration . Their connection gives them wings. They see through the eye of the one, they are becoming a fertile fruiting garden. While the card isn’t exactly about sexual intimacy it is the best way to describe it’s meaning . We have hopefully all experienced that exhilarating feeling when you are fully connected with a sexual partner, your breathing synchs, our two eyes become one large cyclops of a whale eye if we look into eachother’s eyes when we kiss, your bodies relaxed and moving passionately with the invigorating feeling of exploration, grasping and clinging like you’re trying to merge into one. Mind is clear and only the sensations exist. The heart on the verge of exploding with warm openness. I personally have not only felt this through sexual intimacy, but also through cocreating art with someone whose contribution complements my contribution . This card is about a powerful transformative connection that makes shit happen. A connection with the potential to birth something meaningful powerful and needed into the world through love, business, art and any area in life where powers merge to create something greater than one.
